Remember that idea that I was writing about yesterday that no one would sign off on. I win. I got my signature. I can go through life without being disillusioned.... Well, at least not disillusioned by my coworkers.

I learned a new legal term today. Emergency Injunctive Relief - a temporary court order for a defendant to immediately cease an action, like walking within 50 yards of your person. These are usually filed at the beginning of a case, since its hard to convince a judge that something is an emergency several months after you filed your first complaint.

I lost 1.3 lbs today, according to the Wii Fit. Taking the stairs everywhere is apparently paying off. Eventually I'll start exercising to tone up, but reducing how much food I eat and doing little things like taking the stairs should suffice for now.

I had a disappointment at work today, but I'm trying to look past it for a different solution. I think I've been beating a dead horse with my last idea. People gave lip service to it being a good idea, but no one was willing to sign on a dotted line for it to become a reality. Ah corporate life.

I'm getting rid of the bean bag chairs in our living room. They are deflated, and they attract clutter.

[info]vanuslux rented Brutal Legend. I'm looking forward to playing on it a little as soon as I get some stuff done tonight. I already got to play for a few minutes while I was eating dinner. Its pretty cool.

Tomorrow night is my turn to cook since [info]vanuslux is working tomorrow. I'm making tacos.

Our internet has been on the fritz lately. We experimented with Clear today, and we're going to get our money back tomorrow. I'm sick of Comcast at the moment, but I don't feel like we have much choice. They offer the fastest service that I know of. I'll have to dedicate more research to finding a better option.

We dropped off Twilight at Blockbuster. We watched it with Rifftrax. The movie wasn't too bad, just very forgettable. Here's an enhanced version of my favorite scene:

After that, I dropped off a box of stuff with Goodwill. I'm doing the double duty of cleaning my apartment and increasing my good karma. I just have to keep faith and keep working hard, and, some day, we'll see the girls again.[info]vanuslux returned an mp3 player to cassette tape adapter since the tape player in our car doesn't seem to work. Then we went to Wally World for cd books and a clothes drying rack, but we decided that we could make do with what we had at home, so we purchased nothing.

All in all, we spent a whole day with each other, and we wound up with more money in our pockets than when we started out. Woohoo!

Once we got home, I gave Nardagnir the cat a bath. Poor thing. She hates baths! Even though I trimmed her claws before this venture, I have lots of scratches.

I lost half a pound yesterday, and I didn't gain it back today. Progress. It's a good thing.

[info]vanuslux made some cornish hens for dinner, which was really yummy. I'm glad that my mother-in-law and he are reconciled. She's been really nice to us lately. She showed [info]vanuslux how to make the cornish hens, and she even gave him a couple birds and ingredients to experiment with on his own.

I've had a little trouble following through with my routines every day, but the results are so easy to see when I do follow them that it gets easier with time. My apartment just looks better and better.

I've been working on creating better habits, and I'm going to try tracking them in my journal. Mostly, I'm using The Flylady Method to work on becoming a better housekeeper. Bit by bit, my apartment has started looking nicer.

I tried balancing things out between the evening and the morning, but I think its a better idea to keep my routine in the evening. I enjoy my sleep-in time a lot.

Recently I discovered a new outlet for my pent-up aggression. Its called Metal. I had a blast at the Moonspell concert at the Masquerade.

I've started tracking my weight every day. When I first moved to Atlanta, I weighed 120 pounds. Now I weigh 130.4 pounds. This stops now. I'm not going on a diet, per se. I'm going to watch what I eat a little better and start taking the stairs more often at work.

This may turn out to be the most boring lj ever. The entries are probably going to be in this format for a while.

Last night, I succeeded in:

- catching up with all my e-mails
- working on a special project for [info]vanuslux and myself for a while.

This morning, I:

- Showered.
- Got dressed to my shoes (with make-up - believe me, its a big step.)

My husband's ex-wife decided to move the kids to NC without telling us first. Is there a child custody attorney in the house?

I'm proud of myself. For the past two weeks, I've managed to have creative output. However, I haven't been able to bring my creations out to the light of public opinions.

I drafted a short book review for Suite101. I drafted a short story, and I worked on that fictional blog thing.

I found out what I can make for writing for Greeting Cards. I'm going to have to consider doing that to see how much money I can make. I made a submission to Blue Mountain Arts, just to see what would happen, but I guess I won't find out about how that went for awhile.

Today is Sunday. Cleaning day. Ironically enough I started my day listening to Sunday Morning by The Velvet Underground.

I'm surprised that there isn't much William Gibson-inspired music in the world.

I've made what I like to think is progress this weekend. I've changed my blog, and I've created a LinkedIn Profile. I've started work on a project. I want to create a Firefox extension. This means that I will have to learn a lot of new things, like xml, css, xul, and JavaScript. I'm already pretty confident in basic html. As homework, I've decided I should start a website. This would knock out two birds with one stone. I can practice some web design skills, and I can develop a place to showcase my accomplishments to potential business contacts. I went ahead and reviewed some html, using Page Resource, and I have a basic idea for how I want my index page to look.
